Red eye flights suck. That is all.
Thanks for reading.
Just kidding, let me elaborate:
I departed for the big apple on May 1st and my flight was at 10:50...PM...
Red eyes suck for a few reasons:
1) You're super excited to get to your destination but have to wait until the evening to leave.
2) The clothes you wear to the airport are the clothes you sleep in on the airplane, and then wear all day the next day.
3) So the first full day you have in the city, you're exhausted..because who can actually get any real sleep on an airplane... plus you so desperately feel the need to change your outfit and wash your face...because airplane....and you're adjusting to a time change. SO.MUCH.FUN.
But, once you get past the fact that you haven't showered and you're wearing the same clothes you've been in for the past 48 hours and just want a meal that doesn't come in a cardboard container from the back of an airplane, New York is quite fabulous.

Honestly , this trip was such a blur, but also the most amazing experience I've ever had! I have never traveled by myself before (without my parents), so this was a huge learning experience for me! I discovered I enjoy looking after myself, having my own timeline, and even more exciting- I've been bit by the travel bug! I want to see more, and experience new cultures and lifestyles- I AM CRAVING ADVENTURE RIGHT NOW!
Anyways, the first full day in New York was very low key as we were all incredibly, yet fashionably exhausted. After checking into our hotel, we had some free time to grab an actual breakfast and then the 40 of us met with our teachers and tour guides, and walked towards radio city music hall, Rockefeller plaza, Christie's art gallery, and 5th ave...WHERE WE SAW KARLIE KLOSS DOING A PHOTO SHOOT! That was a nice way to start the trip off!
We the took the subway to a New York Scarf Designer's studio where she was showing her latest collection of beautiful scarves, and lucky for us, she was selling some samples so I picked up a few!

***TIP: If you're ever going on a red eye flight, dress accordingly. You want to make sure your outfit is comfortable, as you will be trying to get a good night's sleep on thr plane (SPOIL ALERT: that's impossible to do.), and you want to make sure you are dressed appropriately for the weather you will encounter the day you arrive. I highly recommend layering!
