And hours before leaving for the airport, here is the infamous 'Binge Blog'
Nothing like leaving things to the last minute. However, I am mostly packed....
After years of trying to discover my own personal style, I have found that I was most comfortable with making statements with my outfits this year. There is no point in trying to dress for anyone else but yourself. Be unique, stand out, don't be afraid to play with colours, textures, prints, and silhouettes, and wear things that make you feel like a million bucks!
Here is a look into what my semester of trying new things looked like!
Merry Christmas to all of you people who still continue to read blogs even on Christmas. I hope everyone has been spoiled with love from family and friends because you are all beautiful people!
I have been spoiled with a ton of turtlenecks to keep myself warm when I move to FINLAND!
In my last post I left you with a cliff hanger (only if you haven't been on my instagram... if you have, then this is WAAAY old news). On January 1st, I am flying to Helsinki, Finland for International Studies. I will be attending Metropolia, University of Applied Sciences to take some fashion courses, a Finnish culture course, and a Finnish Language course. I am very excited to be living on my own in a studio apartment in a building with other exchange students, but I'm mainly excited to decorate my place and personalize it to make it feel like home for 5 months! Some of my great friends from my program will be in England, Germany, and Australia on their exchanges, and I wish them all the best, and can't wait to meet up with them to travel together!
You can follow my travels on my instagram- I will be THAT person posting AT LEAST 5 times a day. So prepare yourselves. I also have another trick up my sleeve, but you'll have to wait for that one later!
I will also try to post on this blog what I'm up to, but so far my track record of keeping promises is pretty poor, so you'll have to take what you get. Sorry. But hopefully this trick I have up my sleeve will make it easier-and more fun-for me to share what I'm up to!
Anyways, I wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, and I am also sending you another formal warning to prepare for the Binge Blog.
Be prepared for the Binge Blog. Yes, you heard me. The Binge Blog.
I told myself at the beginning of this school year that I would make sure to blog weekly. I just want to formally inform you that I failed miserably- and my excuse? A good one- FASHION SCHOOL. From day one of the new school year, things just take off. Really freakin fast. It's a routine tho, you kiss your social life goodbye, and get used to the idea of having breakfast lunch and dinner at school, Monday-Friday, and Saturday-Sunday. It's a sad reality, but you see your classmates and teachers more than your own family, and that says a lot when you still live at home.
So anyways, about this 'Binge Blog'.... I am about 11-12 weeks behind on blogging, and for any of you who calculate how long a semester is, it's about 14 weeks long. So you do the math; I fell off the blogging wagon pretty darn fast. So instead of doing lengthy OOTD posts as per usual, I am going to do a very quick sort of post (maybe broken up into a few posts, haven't quite worked out those details yet) on my semester Fashion statements. However, if you follow my instagram, you will have seen those outfit posts daily.
Also, I have some very exciting news to share! If you have been on my instagram, you probably know what I'm getting at, but if you haven't, then that's your fault, so I'll have to tell you here. But later. Cliff hanger, I know.
Also, this post is probably unnecessary, but we're all friends here and I'll be honest with you- I'm procrastinating. Big time. Not quite in the "let's study for a final exam" mood. And I'd rather listen to the Taylor Swift album anyways.
Kate Schreiner I am a full time fashion student and a full time fashionista. Being both is hard, but rewarding work. Keeping up with trends, while keeping up with homework... It's harder than keeping up with the Kardashian's! Lucky for me, neither of these professions slow down; hence full time. Homework is always piling up, and trends are always changing, but that's what I love about this industry!
