The way I feel at home is the way I'm beginning to feel when I stop by Zara here in Helsinki. What do I mean by that you ask? Well, if you know me back home, you know I take my Starbucks very seriously. I'm a gold card holder and they pretty much know my order when they see me coming. It's sad when they tell you your order. That's when you know it's bad. Okay, anyways, Zara. I feel like they know me now... I see the same employees on a regular basis. But who can blame me? It's Zara, and Zara has sales, okay.
When I first arrived in Helsinki, most stores were on the last kick of their Winter Sales (it's like they knew I was coming and can't resist a sale), so it was no surprise I made it to Zara multiple times. Completely unashamed of that.
I'm sorry but when you pass a store that has a big red 70% off sign you don't just keep walking. You go into that store! So I did what any self respecting shopping enthusiast would do, and I lost all willpower and went to check out the sale.

I easily could have gone crazy in Zara (as one does during a sale), however, I had SOME willpower left that allowed me to be very selective with the pieces I purchased. After a very long time in the changing room and a pile of clothing, I narrowed it down to this white turtle neck sweater, and forest green wool trousers. I was very pleased with this purchase, especially when both pieces were 15 euros, which was a great markdown compared to the original price. I figured you absolutely cannot go wrong with a white turtle neck sweater. I have found I'm going on a bit of a white kick... don't get me wrong... most of my outfits still mostly consist of black, but there is something charming about a crisp white sweater. And it can be paired with anything, and is not harsh during the spring/fall seasons when it is still sunny, but cold. And it pairs really well with the trousers. Trousers are classic- more put together than just wearing jeans, and sometimes I like to switch it up with a good pant- and Zara trousers fit really well. |
