If I had to name just one thing Olivia Palermo has taught me, I couldn't. Because there are so many things: accessorizing, layering, and finding unique pieces- these would be just a few. I had never been to the store 8th & Main before, which is located in the 'cool' part of Vancouver where everyone walks around with yoga mats and some type of food item or refreshment from Wholefoods or their very own home gardens. It's a very trendy, and typical Vancouver area with such a cool and relaxed vibe to it. Anyways, this store carries a mis-match of brands, some of which you can find in the Bay. I sifted through the sale section, and after a trip to the fitting room and another round through the sale section, I came across a lovely tribal/feather/graphic black and white printed blazer vest! I immediately thought: WWOPW (what would Olivia Palermo wear), and figured this would be something she would have fun layering with... as would I! | Spring 2016 Megatrend: Monumental According to WGSN/Stylesight, it is 'very Spring 2016" (Go trend forecasting!) |
Considering the dramatic print in this one piece, it was only right to keep the rest of the outfit relatively simple to let the vest speak for itself! I wanted it to play the role of a good statement piece which is why I paired it with a grey long sleeve turtle neck, which was tucked into my black asymmetrical skort. I scrunched the sleeves up a bit on the long sleeve, and threw a relaxed grey belt with some hardware, and cut out booties. I absolutely loved this look because first off: it was very comfy.. and comfort is a very important thing when you are in school for 12+ hours! And second, I am all for statement pieces! They just make an outfit more fun, and visually appealing!
