Walking down the streets of Gastown reminded me of being in quaint parts of New York. And the yellow taxi added to the Manhattan vibes I was feeling.
Last year, my obsession with overalls began (other than when I was a child, of course). I picked up a pair of lightwashed denim overalls during last summer, and began thinking of different ways to style them where they don't look like a little farm girl should be wearing them (I referred to myself as 'Little Farmer Greta' all day). I also despise the "crop top and overall combo" with a burning passion- maybe because I like more classic looks. I wore them a few times last summer, and thought I'd bring 'em back this year!

I paired my overalls with a thin, black and white striped tee (J Crew- thrifted from New York), my colour blocked sandals, a large beige leather bag, classic black leather watch with leopard print studded cuff for subtle print mixing (and I mean VERY subtle), and my black and gold sunnies.
I decided to try something incredibly different with my hair. I don't usually do up dos, so with a little guidance from my friend, Pinterest, I gave a braided up do a shot! I parted my hair down the middle, and made two French braids and braided all the way down to the top of my neck. I then bunched all the loose hair together, and made one large braid all the way down to the ends of my hair. I then loosened up the braid so it looked more relaxed, and pinned the braided hair in a very loose bun. It was surprisingly much easier than I thought it would be, and it looked quite cute for a day spent Downtown!

I had a lovely day Downtown with my Cousin, Kasidy, who visited me from the Island over the long weekend! We enjoyed beautiful walks through the city and along the ocean, relaxed on people-packed beaches, and enjoyed a stunning view of the city at sunset!
